Hello, I am Nick Tarrant, a counsellor practicing from the centre of Chippenham, working face-face with individual clients aged 18+. Using a gentle, yet broad and deep, Humanistic and Integrative approach, I work to help you find relief from suffering and increase your sense of well-being.
I imagine you have reached my site because, right now, you could do with some support to face some of the challenges that life brings. And that, essentially, is what I offer. You may need just a short-term helping hand to help you find your feet again. Or, perhaps, longer-term work to discover new perspectives in facing and accepting past difficulties to find newer, more freeing, and fulfilling ways of being…Or something else? Whichever, coming here is an excellent – and brave! – first step.
I believe support and change are best realised through strong relationship. The counselling relationship can feel strange at first, particularly to risk bearing more than is usual with someone you don’t know. It may feel unbalancing because you may well be doing most of the talking; I, the listening. And it can be painful to risk allowing and sharing suffering and distress. Therefore, trust and safety are vital in this work. And so I would like to use this site to address some of the unknowns to help you feel as informed as possible. This, I hope, will form the foundations of trust between us, through which our work will unfold towards alleviating any distress and increasing your sense of well-being.
To this end, I briefly detail through this site who I am, how I work, and what you might expect were you to consider working with me. I encourage you to explore it to get an initial feel for me and contact me if you’d like to know more.
